Biography

Jeanne RochettePassionate about music and theatre, she studied in Paris, author – composer and French singer Jeanne Rochette, is dedicated to the song, upon her arrival in Quebec, 10 years ago. With finely chiselled texts, real scenarios poetic, funny, even wacky, it enriches the repertoire of a French song inventive, tinged jazz and world music. Her first album released in 2010, entitled Elle sort reveals this original universe. She is the winner of the discoveries of the Magog song in 2008.

On stage, the vitality of Jeanne and her theatrical experience make a spectacle in color and energy. Claude Lemesle (lyricist for Reggiani, Bécaud, Dassin…) acknowledges « a temperament without temperance » and Pierre Lescure (Director of the Théâtre Marigny) sees « of the song performed more seductive music is exuberant and brilliant”.

In recent years, accompanied by his talented musicians, François Bourassa (piano), Daniel Baillargeon (guitar), Philippe Melanson (drums), Mathieu Désy (double bass), she gave numerous concerts, including in England, in China, in India, in Western Canada, the Centennial of Lennoxville festivals, several times at the festival de Jazz de Québec and the Francofolies de Montréal as well as in Paris, at the theatre of the old grid and the trail des Halles.
